    What a weird poll

If you can afford an RX-8 get one. However, the 6s is one classy sedan.

    i currently own a 6i.

if i could do it all over again, i'd shell out the cash for a 6s.

its such a great car. smooth, handles like a dream, and looks fricking great. today i came outside and i looked at my car, even covered in snow and said "that is a beautiful machine"

i could tell you all about the aftermarket of the 6s. the 6s with a $500 aftermarket part called the cp-e intake with the cp-e maf chip, will give you literally 20lbs hp and 20lbs tq increase, due to the VERYY rich stock a/f ratio. im talking 10:1 at around 5500rpm.

you can't go wrong with a 6. it'll be more practical, and faster than the rx8, better fuel mileage, and cheaper insurance.

I almost got a 6 but got an RX-8. RWD > *. I dont know about the 6 being faster in a straight line (stock is mid 15's? vs mid 14's for the 8) but the 8 will own many higher power cars in the twisties. As far as mods go, you can get a canzoomer piggyback unit chip for 600 bucks which gives you 25whp. There is also the Greddy turbo kit going for $3000 shipped which gives 240whp and some people have gotten 270whp+ after tuning the Greddy kit. Its true that the rx8 eats alot of gas as well as oil but the driving experience is well worth it. Insurance is actually cheap because it is considered a low power 1.3 litre 4 door vehicle. Just go out there and test drive both of them as Im sure they are both great cars and make sure you get a stick!

    Hey,

I bought an RX-8 the other day. I had to get the service department to do a few things for me and they gave me a 2005 Mazda6 as a loaner car. I must say that after driving the two there is really no way to compare them. The RX-8 is superior in just about every catagory except for backseat room.

here is a pic of my new baby:

hmmm, close to the same price range, you can get a 350z, which is better torque wise than the rotary, and less maintenance as well. but if you're jonesing between the 6 and the rx-8, get the rx-8. rwd > fwd in most cases.

my wife drives a 6i and it's a great car for what it is. if you're comparing the rx8 to it, you'd want the 6s, as the 2.3i is immume to any kind of speeding tickets :big grin: . one thing to consider is the rx8's terrible gas mileage (to be worse than my wrx AND slower to boot, thats pretty bad). also one who buys a rotary engine must be willing to go the extra mile in terms of maintenance and care. plus there's literally NO trunk space in the RX.

that said, ive always had a soft spot in my heart for rotarys.
