I'm ready to try something different.

I have a 19 and a 26. I like the little guy (26) a whole lot. Fits well in my hand, and I shoot it better than the 19. The 19 to me just feels awkward. Like I'm holding a brick. Those are the only two pistols I own.

Anyone else share the same problem? Recommend a 9mm auto that feels great in the hand? I've already had and sold a M&P9...wasn't wild about it, didn't shoot very well with it. I'm jonesing for a P99 but am open to other suggestions.

i dont think any of us will know which handgun will fit YOUR hand.

try going to a local gun store and holding every pistol they have :dunno: you're bound to find one you like :h5:

actually, according to jas0n, the glock is the only pistol you should own. so i guess you're fucked :mamoru:

I hear enough of the "Glock 19 is god. Only pistol you will ever need. Bow down." I even got lucky enough (randomly) to get an Austrian proofed one. Oh well

See if you can find an FN P9 to try out. I tried a friend's .40, and it had the most comfortable grip I've found so far. It's on my short list.

Never figured out why people complain about grip size. Shouldnt be an issue if you grip it right

Eh, I tried shooting a 19 and it was a lot more work for me to shoot it right than the 17. I don't know if that's because I have had no formal training or what, but it seemed like if I could shoot better with the 17, I should get that one.

glocks fit kinda weird in my hand but i've found that the sig 226 fits my hand like a glove... like a glove from michael jackson to be more specific.

I've heard a lot of people tend to shoot the subcompact glocks better than the bigger ones.

Probably because most people squeeze the shit out of there lower two fingers when griping a gun

i find it odd that the full frame and the sub compact both don't fit your hand.

do you say they don't fit your hand because you don't like the feel or because you aren't shooting effective groups with them and feel it's the hand positioning causing it?

if it's the later then i suggest marksmenship classes to get some training and corrections to improve your accuracy,

if they just don't feel right in your hand then there is no other option than to go to your chosen gun range and rent a variety of handguns until you find one you like the feel of. we all have different hand sizes etc so no suggestion regarding the fit of a gun will mean much

the sub compact handguns like a glock 26 etc don't have room for most people to get their pinky on the grip and depending on hand size not a great amount of room for the ring finger to grip, some people hold on to their handgun with a death grip instead of a firm handshake grip and probably pull their shots from a tight group by holding the gun so damn tight, with a looser grip on the smaller handle perhaps those people can't make the mistake that they make with a full size gun and a full grip and gripping the gun so tight.
at least that's my interpretation of the earlier post and it probably does make sense :dunno:
