A freind of mine picked up the mat serra instructional and I was curious so he let me borrow them. I have to say in terms of bjj instructional he really doesnt teach anything revolutionary but he goes over basic stuff very well and his explanations are very easy to follow. He goes over a lot of the details you might miss.

Im not a fan of learning str8 from instructionals but its a great set to pick up to compliment your training and reinforce what your learning. Great base to build on. In the guard tape he teaches the arm bar triangle omo plata and how to transition from each sub. Not anything to overly complicated but its the basic shit that usually works the best.

    Volume 1 - The Guard

    Volume 2 - Side Control

    Volume 3 - The Mount
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3WXTUFH2
    Volume 4 - The Back
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZU699BDF

got it on mega upload for any one thats curious or interested. Im sure the bjj crew isnt going to see anything new but Im not used to omo platas and when I attempt them they come out pretty sloppy so this really helped me clean it up.

:ugh: Was Frank Trigg ever good? Maybe it's like how someone can suck at a sport, but be good at other aspects. He is fucking horrible at commentating also.

Dude always seemed pretty knowledgeable on the Pride FC shows :dunno:. He never really said anything revolutionary but he was consice and correct.

Definitely like him more after beating Miller and Misaki, and his commentating.

Really? One of the last prides I watched I'll never forget how wrong he was calling a fight. I am basing a lot of my opinion on him over that one fight though. I also didn't like his article on Kimbo and him thinking Tank actually had a chance.

    well now I'm really curious.

Edit: Oh fuck totally forgot, thanks!

Yeah I can see that, but he clearly tries to stick to the basics of MMA observation, the shit that seems obvious. His argument for Tank was probably experience and puncher's chance, right? He's clearly mistaken, but that's a logical point, no?

I would agree, but disagree with good logic on his part. You have to factor in everything, not just experience. I don't think he actually compared their actual skills or lack thereof. He also based some of his judgement on the fact that Kimbo didn't do an interview for him after asking on several occasions. To me bringing in personal business with actual business, isn't professional.

simple answer: just use VLC media player, it can play anything
less simple answer: my guess is it is an xvid or divx file and you dont have the correct codec

    cheers

On the Marcelo Garcia ones, the guillotine one actually downloads an omo-plata instructional. Does anyone know which one is actually the one on guillotines?

I believe its because it downloads them as filename.mpg.001. I just had to erase the 001.
