    Hey vag :)

    Wasn't sure to post this in F&N or here, but i guess i want jackoffers' opinions. So I've been working out to increase body mass and such and we all know hormones help with that. So every time I squeeze out a quickie, I feel guilty knowing that I am ultimately impeding my progress in fitness. I've finally cut myself down to strictly only once a week now, but it SUCKS. The increase in hormones just makes my urges that much more uncontrollable.

    So serious fitness guys (or girls? :mamoru:), do you feel the same way about this or do you wank regardless and still feel that you make progress?

    edit: actually im not sure if this post belongs in vag, but id still like your opinion :wavey:

    actually not 100% sure myself the degree of ramification jerking off multiple times in a day, but im sure its not beneficial for muscle repair.

    There are many things that aren't great for muscle repair, but that is life. I'm sure that ideally you should have a perfectly balanced protein shake before, and a shake right after... but who actually does that.

    Anyway, semen isn't all protein like urban myths say, it's actually carbs. Read the wiki if you'd like

    i am doing some research but getting the most biased/two sided answers, still havent found a solid answer. but yeah problem solved haha im not going to dwell on it so much

    No, the few studies that show a slight boost because of abstinence in the long term are pretty limited in scope an size (10 subjects of similar age). Life without any kind of sex is a shitty life. Especially at the expense of gaining mass, which it won't really affect anyway.

    I was ejaculating very often when I was working out seriously a few years ago, didn't really stop my gains.

    Work hard in the gym
    eat decent
    have a protein shake
    and have a nice long jerk

    Alright...

    Back in the day, Shaolin monks who practiced qigong and stuff would never ejaculate because they wanted to conserve "jing", which is like "essence" or something. Basically their qigong (chi kung) practice and qi power would get stronger if they didn't masturbate, or at least that's how they thought it worked. I've never seen a scientific study on this. There are also stories of male monks fucking female monks, and I'm sure they had wet dreams all the time (that's what happens when you don't ejaculate enough, especially when you're young). Anyway, moving on a few centuries...

    Back in the day boxing trainers used to tell their trainees not to have sex for a week or two before a fight. Why? Because it was supposed to increase testosterone. Plus I guess maybe the thinking was that a fighter would be more pissed off because he hadn't gotten laid in a while. Whatever.

    Recently I think they've done studies that show that having sex actually increases testosterone, although I can't remember the window and timeframe that it took place in, but I remember them basically saying all the oldschool boxing trainers were wrong about not allowing their fighters to have sex in the weeks leading up to a big fight.

    Cliffs Notes:

    - Have sex and masturbate all you want. It's not going to lower your test or anything and reduce your gains.

    Haha I actually asked my doctor about this. He said that he'd never read a study about it but if he was going to take any sort of educated guess it would be that it would take 2 or 3 weeks of no ejaculation for there to be any minor effect. It has nothing to do in with protein in cum (carbs anyways right?) but that hormone levels would increase very slightly over those 2-3 weeks. I personally don't think its worth it to even try... You'd be better off eating right and taking a couple supplements if you want to see better gains.
