    Is there any solid information that shows that ejaculating will decrease your strength in the gym? A pretty knowledgeable powerlifter I worked out with said that he doesn't have sex or masturbate a week before a meet. So, recently, I try and not masturbate 'til after my workouts. :mamoru:

    I read somewhere that it only a SLIGHT decrease was noticed in lab test results if you ejaculated within about ~3 hours of athletic activity.

    false, there was a study that confirmed that on days 6-8 of not ejaculating there was a slight increase in testosterone

    I know it's true, actually happened to me within the last few weeks. Couple of Thursdays ago I was DLing. Hadn't had sex for a few days and DL'd 515 fairly easily. Fast forward to last Saturday, had sex like three times in the morning with my GF. Go to the gym a few hours later and could barely budge 515 off the ground.

    couldn't that be the same as jogging 3 miles before you went into the gym? i don't think it had anything to do with you ejaculating. :dunno:

    from my experience I can say that when I had sex shortly before a workout I'm weaker than w/o sex

    I'd never turn down sex because of a workout though :hsugh:

    i dont think the issue is about test., rather that dopamine is released... thus you have none to release during exercise

    having rough sex or tons of it before a workout won't help obviously because it takes effort

    but beating off? i've beat off an hour before training and still set a PR, damnit it feels good and if it's gonna happen it's gonna happen
