Typically I get >60 FPS in Source-based games. Suddenly, I can't get past 40fps, with fps dipping as low as 10 fps. I thought it was a driver issue, and it might still be, but I didn't really do anything to the software. I just stepped away from the computer, and now it crawls.

I've tried the AMD dual core fix, reinstalling drivers, and nothing. I've also reformatted. Has anyone had a similar experience/fix?

When I run the video stress test, it can't get past 42 fps. At one point it does, but then it freezes for a split second, and then its gets stuck at 42 fps.

    Quick Specs:
    X2 3800+
    nvidia 6800gs
    1 GB DDR400

Also, can a video card lose performance if its not getting enough power? I have a TruePower 480, which is plenty of power, but perhaps its failing?
