    I was wondering if anyone can recommend a program that can download large amounts of images at a time. I've been told about Imagedownloader, but I'd like to see if there's anything better out there. Many thanks.

    I agree. The only reason I keep firefox around is for this plugin... Anyone know of an opera replacement?

    Images or links on the same page? Flashget is your lord.

    Or throughout a website? There are many spider programs out there, I don't know which is best.

    downTHEMall should work for you then. I don't like FireFox but I keep it around just for this plugin.

    Depends on what exactly you are trying to download:

    If you are downloading a series of images, eg. pr0n01.jpg, pr0n02.jpg, pr0n03.jpg...pr0n99.jpg, then ezPics works well. ezpics.kingbastard.com or embezzle for *nix.

    If you are trying to download all the images on a page, unlinker or dta extensions for firefox work well, but I prefer wget using the -p option. If you have a page of links to the images you want, you can copy the list of links into a .txt file, use search&replace to add wget to the front, rename to a .bat and execute in the wget directory. I've used this to rip images from a site. Or you can just rip the whole site with wget -r -p -u Mozilla site address.

    Use flashget then. Super easy to use. It also plexes the downloads, so you can have ten streams for one download if the server can handle it. This is only useful if the server throttles though. Or download 8 pics/things at a time.

    This is useful in downloading multiple movies from a single page, like porn movies. Or so I heard. *ahem*

    It handles mms, php, javascript quite well too.

    I'm an IE fan myself, like i said i only use FF for unlinker and dta, but i grew up with IE and just got used to it, i also love how you can change the simultaneous downloads through regedit, to my knowledge you cannot do this in FF.

    Allow more than 2 simultaneous downloads in IE 6
    This is to increase the the number of max downloads to 10.

    1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

    2. Locate the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

    3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value (a dword) , and then add the following registry values:

    "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=Dword:0000000a
    "MaxConnectionsPerServer"=Dword:0000000a

    4. Quit Registry Editor.

    Be careful not to set these values too high or you will experience problems on pages with many small .gif files, an IE bug that took me months to resolve.
