Does anyone know an up-to-date list of states that recognize same sex marriage or, civil unions? my bf and i are planning on moving out of tennessee in may, and we want to move to a state where we can get civil unioned, lol. we're also looking into adopting a child in the next few years. so far, i've found Massachusetts, Vermont, Oregon starting 1/08, new jersey i believe also. thats all i can find. sucks i have to move my life 1000 miles away to marry my partner, but, oh well, lol.

You can find everything you need to know about gay rights and issues and all things "equal rights" at the Human Rights Campaign website.

And consider supporting them, financially... They are the ones fighting for our civil rights every day on capital hill and at the state level.

A GREAT organization, wothy of our support.

yes, lol. i moved here cuz i met my BF and he lived in tennessee. its growing on me. i actually don't mind it all that much anymore, but, we'll always be "roomates" we can never adopt children. i think its too hot here too, lol. i lived in New York, New Jersey, and Chicago. I'm not used to it being "warm" at 97 degrees, lol. thats flippin hot if you ask me, lol. i just don't know the first thing about moving to a location where i don't know anyone. i have no idea how to buy a house, or get loans, or, talk to a realator about houses, or the process, or adoption or anything, lol. this is gonna be interesting, lol.

Yes, and if you donate $25 or was it $30 or more, you get a nifty tote bag. :) At least that is what the "special" is right now.

That could be fun...if you replaced the he with she and I was involved. But yes, makes the stereotype seem true.

    hmmm...

    I donate $20/month... hence I am tote-bagless... :(
Maybe I should consider upping my donation... I could use a nifty tote bag.

It's pretty decent looking. Looks similar to this but has = Member instead of peace/love/equality. Oh, and I guess I shouldn't call it a tote bag. That is what they called it in the mailer, but on their site they just call it a bag. I guess I don't know the difference between a tote and a regular bag or I would have just called it something else. :o
