I'm most likely going to get married before I get deployed here next summer. What do I need to do to get it implemented within the service? Also, what types of payment will I possibly be getting, and what will she be getting?

Please I do not want a bunch of backlash, I know the consequences and the mistakes other people have made- and how their marriage turned to shit. I'm probably not different, I know that. But this is what we both want.

    :)

Check with your CBPO/Customer Service/orderly room they will tell you all you need to do....most of the time though NONE of it can happen until AFTER you are married

Don't forget a power of attorney and a will.

Basically you will need to bring along a copy of your marriage certificate, her birth certificate and social security cards (no copies). She will need to go with you to get her ID made. You have to be present for this because you have to sign the paperwork as well. (At Hood this is done at the same location as DEERS, it may not be the case where you are stationed.)

Also you will have to go to PAC, bring along the same documents and fill out paperwork to receive BAH.

This is the information for the army, no clue how it is with other branches.

None of it can be done without a marriage certificate.

Be sure you have seperate bank accounts as well... and just put enough money in her's to survive.... or all of that shit will dissapear before you get back.

:werd: I've seen that happen many a time and it's very unfortunate. Perhaps a better solution would be actually knowing who you are going to marry first rather than getting married just because you are deploying or because you are away from home, alone and lonely the first time ever.

The best advice I have read yet.

Also it will help if you get deployed to leave her around family. Anything else will lead to trouble.:wtc:
