I'm wanting a plain ol .22 to take to the range just to toy around with targets in the distance. i had plans on making a 10/22 look something like this but with a different stock and a bipod

can the same thing be done to the marlin 795? is it a piece of shit rifle? which would you go with?

I would go with the 10/22 if you want to customize it in any way. I've got a walmart special that I modded to look like this [IMG]
The 10/22 is the best choice if don't plan on keeping it stock form

I'd get the 10/22. It goes on sale regularly at Big 5 Sporting Goods if you have one near you.

The marlin isn't a piece of shit by any means. I'm just partial to the 10/22. That barrel will probably cost you as much as the whole rifle though. :mamoru:
