yeah i hate the tubefed shit, although i've personally never seen any real problem with it. i'm sure it's nice though, marlin is good stuff.

Any reason you hate it? Seems easier than loading a mag..

I think its a better buy than the 10/22 unless you want to mod.

just personal preference. i like the idea of having as many magazines as i want pre-loaded. although the tube isn't all bad, cause it must hold a good bit of rounds. like 15 or so?

I'm not looking to mod.. just get a decent scope and shoot for hours.

    Tube holds 14.

Go for it, pick up a speed loader for it if the tube is too slow you.

Tubefed sucks if more than 1 person is sharing the gun :hsd: I like my tubefeds, just not as much as mags

My dad gave me his tube fed 60 when I was 15 or so and he had it forever. I used to carry it on my fourwheeler and beat it around etc. Great gun for the money.

I like the marlin offerings better than the ruger.

I was looking at a Marlin 60 and then I ended up buying a Marlin 795 because I prefer having magazines.

But I can't speak highly enough about my 795.

I love tubefed bolt guns. For semi auto I think I would prefer mags.

The thing i like about the tubefed, is the ability to shoot any .22 round you want...longs, shorts, etc. And yeah i like the bolt version better.

I have that exact gun ::wiggle:

Really accurate, and I've only ever had 1 failure and that was shooting the Remington bulk pack stuff which is just plain awful so I'm sure that was ammo related. The trigger on mine is nice and crisp with virtually no pre or over travel... but it is fairly heavy.

I'm a 10/22 sack rider so I naturally disapprove. But for a scope why not a Mueller APV? If that's too much, just get a Tasco or something and call it a day.

I have a Busnell 3-9x40 on my Marlin. Works great. And it's cheap (was less than $60)

Same thing. I though it was a POS after my 2nd trip out with it because the zero was waaaay off, but the mounts had come loose. I loc-tited it and its been fine ever since.

I have taken mine to the range about a dozen times now. Each time it has needed no more than 2-3 clicks (1/4moa each) to adjust for windage (I shoot ~75 yards with my Marlin).

    I'd say it's pretty good.
