    Would you still have joined?

For me, I'd have thought :coolugh: . I probably still would've joined, but probably not if I knew I'd be on all fours with a flat razor and some waxed-up floor tile. For 6 hours straight. After working 16 hours.
I probably would've gone and said hi to the AF recruiter and asked about how many maids I got.

I think every branch of the military does the "Halls & Walls" drill. I had forgotten how pissed off I was about doing that crap. Once a week we had to strip the floors and wax 'em again. GOD I hated that shit.

AF did this too... Quarters were used on the tile floors, not razors...

I probably would have went to another branch but it would have been a mistake. Ours wasn't nearly that crazy (where were you stationed?) but it ended once the next class rolled in. It's only the kind of thing you have to put up when your boot, fresh out of MOS school. It feels so much better being on the other end of the pole.

The weekly strip/buff/polish drill for the floors in barracks and office areas. It was always a huge production, involving soldiers/airmen on their hands and knees stripping the old floor wax off by hand (corners and edges need special attention).
