I don't believe there are any on this forum. But plenty of people who know a lot of the same information and won't feed you bullshit!

Either you have legal trouble, drug issues, or medical issues and want to see if you can get away with not talking about it to your recruiter.

If there were any recruiters on OT, i'm sure they would have made their presence known the second this forum was created :bigthumb:

    Seriously.

alexinpg, just ask your question here and i'm sure someone will know the answer, then once you get your answer just delete this thread yourself.

Alright, and since, yes i dont want to talk to a local recruiter face to face and have him laugh at me.... here goes.
Let me Preface by saying 2.5 years ago I fugged up. I decided that the Marine corps wasn't working out for me and i've regretted that situation ever sense. I was young and dumb. I've watched my friends, my brothers if you will, go to the ghan and Iraq, some came back some didn't. I wish i could go, but i fugged up.

With that being said, I was discharged with a general under honorable, I dont have the code off the bottom of my 214 handy. Basically they labeled me as not fit to serve at this time or something like that. I was wondering if there's anyway to have a C.O. or a shrink or somebody sign off and say that i am once again fit to serve so i can go back and finish the promise i made to this country or am i just out of luck?

I dont know if i need to say it or not, but please no flames, trust me you aren't going to hurt my feelings by doing that any more than they already hurt everytime i get an email from one of my friends or everytime i go to sleep at night.

We're probably going to need your code before we can give you any kind of an answer.

Without knowing your RE code, I can't give you anything from the regulations. Bu I will say from what you have said, I seriously doubt the Corp will take you back. The Corp doesn't even like taking back former Marines with a stellar record.

I don't see any problem in getting a waiver... and I doubt a recruiter would laugh at you unless it was like a drug charge..

A recruiter won't laugh at you no matter what it is, recruiters are used to hearing some of the craziest things from people. On this medical question thing my recruiter had me do to find out if I was even qualified to join, he asked me if I had both of my testicals :hsugh:.

But they have to write down and/or report anything you tell them.

So according to usmilitary.about.com, you can reenlist but you'll probably require a waiver.

That shouldn't be a problem, but any recruiter will be skeptical, if only for the fact that you're basically asking them to let you try again.

I dont doubt, and i wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't take me about half past forever to get back in.

By the way, like the name. My nickname through highschool was either mephy or mephisto

My recruiter told me he gets hundreds of calls and whatnot every week, and mabye 5 people out of every 100 are actually serious about joining and the rest are just a waste of time.
