contrary to popular opinion, he lived to tell about it.

Just a reminder of how we all need to be extra careful

I'm tempted to call it an "accidental discharge", but to me that inplies that the gun fired without the trigger being intentionally pulled. That doesn't apply in this case. I intentionally pulled the trigger, I just neglected to unload the gun first.

    Ooooops :ugh:

Atleast he's honost. Better than someone who'd blame it on the gun.

someone wasn't following rule number 1... it's rule one so that if you do have to pull the trigger it goes off in a safe direction

well after viewing those images I am thinking that I will be looking for a new carry ammunition besides Hydra-Shock, especially considering the rest of the images

I'm just going to make a habit of not putting my body in front of the muzzle.

Not the muzzle, sounds like he had his thumb up around the cylinder when he shot it.

I have a buddy who was shooting his Uzi machine gun a couple years ago, and the forward grip came off...His hand went in front of the muzzle and he caught two 9mm. It could have been a lot worse :hs:

Is that even possible on an x-frame gun unlesss you're intentionally using some dumb grip? On my j-frame it seems like at most I can get about .75" of an inch of my thumb in front of the cylinder if I try to hold it thumbs forward.

I know an older guy that got his hand sliced open by a S&W .44Mag.

    Story goes:

He was out deer hunting with said .44, it was starting to get dark, and as he was getting ready to pack up, a rather large buck snuck up to his left side. Trying not to spook said buck, he decided to try and shoot it while firing from waist level. He pointed the gun at the deer, and layed his support hand over top of the revolver, encompassing the cylinder. Fired off a shot, and next thing he knew, he was gushing blood all over the place.

Supposedly it put a nice slice in his left palm, requiring several stitches. Never did hear if he hit the deer though.
