When will these criminals learn? Too bad booby traps aren't legal.

I've stated my opinion on this before... but I think that guy was totally out of line.

Well, your opinion is valid and all, but he was justified.

A good rule of thumb for OT is if you hear about it on the news outside the internet its already a repost.

The way the whole thing was handled was out of line. He called the police, gave them real-time info on the crime.... that's where it should have ended.

    Telling the operater that,

"They aren't going to get away with this"
::click click:: "You hear that??? That's my shotgun"
"If this was my other neighbor I would have already done something (meaning shoot them)"

ad then he leaves his house with the intentions to confront the criminals and says "BOOM, You're dead" and shoots them in "self defense"...

Come on man. He knew what he was doing. No property stolen, especially a "bag of loot" is worth killing someone over. Jewelry and DVD players and stuff can all be replaced.

As far as the scum that robbed the house... they deserve their due process and trial/conviction. Not shot to death. If the guy would've stayed in his house as instructed, they criminals would have been caught, items returned, no one would be dead and this guy wouldn't be in the position he is in.

I just read a few more reports on this and I am not exactly changing my view on this, but I do see Mr. Horns side and the side of his community.

What he said on the audio recorded 911 call incriminadted him a lot.

I still think the path he took wasn't the wisest, but reviewing testimonies and such, it barely stays on the legal line. He didn't do anything illegal, but still WAY stupid.

I think him calling the police shows that he's not a crazy old guy who is desperate to shoot someone. He wanted the police to take care of it, but as usual they showed up late.

I don't think he came off stupid at all. He wasn't going to allow some scum break into his neighbor's house... absolutey nothing stupid with that.
