Man dies after being shot in hand
    Friday, August 29, 2008

GOLDEN VALLEY (AP) - A Mohave County man has died after being shot in the hand and sheriff's officials say they've arrested his roommate on a murder charge.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter says 45-year-old James Barry Rogers of Golden Shores was found dead last Friday evening.

Carter says 61-year-old Richard Lee Knetzer went to his neighbor's house and told them there was a dead man on his living room floor. Deputies found blood in many areas of the home and Rogers dead with a cloth wrapped around his bloody hand.

After an investigation, they arrested Knetzer Wednesday.

Carter says the two men apparently argued off and on and then a scuffle led to a shooting Friday afternoon.

Inexplicably, Carter says Rogers apparently never went for help, though he was not incapacitated.

    ----
Wonder if it was .45 or 10mm.

wonder whats not being said in the article, there has to be some extenuating circumstance as to why he wouldn't go to the hospital for a gunshot wound.

so did it enter his hand, travel up his entire arm, and into his vital organs or something?!?!?!

No, it was prolly a 10mm which, although it hit his hand, actually blew his entire arm off and he bled out through the armpit.

    You need .50BMG for that.

They would have not found his body if it was .50BMG

He got shot in the hand, sure. What they don't tell you, it was the concussion and overpressure from the 10mm that actually ruptured all his vital organs.

Rumor is, the entire block is now deaf and suffering from severe radiation illness

I guess it COULD. Did you guys ever see "the Jackal" with Bruce Willis? I believe there's an example of hand-shooting death. :o
