Mallet Cadillac CTS-V - 427 V8
I love the CTS-V.
680 hp turbo 427
Must be nice to leverage all your C5 development work. I'm betting they'll take that cash and roll it all into LS2 development too.
Mallet is generally a bit overpriced for what they do. I havent' been a big fan of thier C5 work so far.
Give it some time until Lingenfelter and Cerra adapt thier tubing to the CTSV engine bay- then you'll see some real power for a decent cost.
I  mallet.
Looks badass, IMO, and better in person.
The onyl things I didn't like: the brake pedal was way high over the gas pedal. Would make for tough heel-toe shifting, although it may be because all the little kids came in, pumped the pedal with the ignition off and stiffened it up. The interior dash/door panel material didn't seem very high-class. It reminded me of the faux-suede shit in the Z4 It was enough to make me think twice about buying one- Caddy really should've taken a page from the M5 and done it up with real leather or something.
I'd take it
i'd rape, pillage and sell all of your children for that car.
You'd like the STS-V and XLR-V then, except plan on living in it for what they will probably cost.
Sadly, this is true.
I just really wish they'd have spent a touch more on dash material. Everything else was perfect- leather seats/steering wheel, good ergonomics, aluminum trim, etc.
Maybe next time. It's still an M5 performer for substantially less money, unless you think nicer plastic is worth the difference.
Does it still run 13.7?
Not at all.
I could probably live with it. I was just thinking if I had that kind of coin to spend, and I sat in every car in the segment (M3, MB, etc.), would I really settle on the CTSV? I was hoping for a more resounding yes than my heart answered with.
Who are these Mallett guys anyways? I've never heard of them until I came across their CTS-Vs.
They've been tuning C5s for a while now- check out thier site for more details.
Basically, they're jsut liek Lingenfelter, MTI, Cerra, Speed Demon, or any other tuner shop, only thier packages are "high-end" (readverpriced and bundled with crap like rims, seat embroidery, graphics packages, engraved number plates, etc.)
i want i want
Why did you change the title to include the HP?
ugly, but better than japcrap
