    How about...

Always treat the gun like it is ready to put a hole in something

Keep your fucking finger off the trigger unless you want to make a hole in something.

Don't point the gun at anything you don't want to put a hole in.

When pointing the gun at something it's ok to make a hole, look for shit that would be really fucked up if you missed and put a hole in.

there's no way in hell ANY of those electronic systems should ever make it to any firearm

can you imagine a system that relies on batteries? or a magnetic swipe card? or the proximity of watch?

    come on

you're asking for that system to fail when you need it the most

Democrats don't care if they fail... in fact, that would play very well into their hands. They just want more to regulate.

    +1

All these gimmicks do is increase the probability that my gun won't fire when I NEED it to. Modern guns are already very safe. Making PEOPLE safer is what will actually make a difference.

Little EMP disables everyone defenses, then they come in and point their guns (that wouldn't require such hardware) at you. How nice for the badguys.

I actually like the magnetic one (where a magnet on your finger enables it). It'd be kinda cool to watch someone that just wrestled your gun from you try to fire it, and that look on his face when it fails to go bang while you stick your knife in his throat.

I'd hate to see any of those interlocks (magnetic, RFID, etc.) become any kind of mandate.
Look at what they've done to cars, though. Bombs in the steering wheel, by law, whether you want it or not.

Oh for Christ's sake. Democrats only want to regulate things they think need regulation, not everything without exception. If only Republicans felt likewise, we wouldn't be in the shit we're in now. Not everything should be regulated, but not everything should be unregulated either.

Coming off 8 years of rule where the guy in charge appointed people who intentionally didn't do their jobs because that's what he wanted (hello SEC and Treasury, I'm talking to you), I think we can stand a little more regulation. Does it need to be guns that get regulated? No, not necessarily. Unfortunately guns will always be a hot-button topic, seeing how they are lethal weapons and all.

Anyway, anyone who can't figure out how to mod their gun so it'll shoot without needing "authorization" is not going to be very useful when the asteroid hits and civilization crumbles, so I'm not going to bother myself to worry about their well-being in the meantime.

  17. Democrats think everything needs regulation. The citizenry is too daft to know what's good for it, and must be led around by the enlightened class.

If you want to talk about Bush and people not doing their jobs, take a close look at the root of our current financial troubles. The names Barney Frank and Chris Dodd will be showing up a lot. Neither of them are Bush's people.

No they don't, you're just full of shit, that's all.

For the record, I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, but right now I am damned sick of Republicans. My father, who is a Republican, is also damned sick of them right now, and he wants his old party back -- you know, before the neocons took it over.

  19. When have the democrats ever attempted to step back form something and "give up" power over anything? It's always the same story... more government, more regulation, more bureaucracy. It hasn't worked in the past, and it won't work in the future. The european socialist states that so many pine for are in worse financial shape than we are. Our somewhat-capitalist system has left us far better off than the socialists in europe. People would be well served to pull their heads out of their asses and look past our borders to see what happens when they get that which they clamor for.

As to the republican-democrat thing. The democrats are tripping over themselves to break promises and justify things they slammed republicans for. How about finishing a 1000+ page bill last night and demanding a vote on it this morning? How about the fact that they promised a 48hour review period before a vote? How can it possibly be responsible to write a $800 billion spending bill and demand that there's a vote on the bill before anyone has even read or understand what's in it?

Before you blame the republicans for everything look at the sad state of the democrat party too.

The democrats are a bunch of douche bags.... so are the republicans... I'm sick of hearing about what Obama will or won't do... what Bush did or didn't do... blah blah blah... Can't we just talk guns?? or at least actual gun legislation on the table that might limit or expand our 2A rights??
