Hey there, quick info is I've been going out with my Gf for just about a year now and would like to make her a gift of some sort because i have a lot of free time. I am in college, so i only see her 2-3 times a month giving me plenty of free time. I am looking for ideas on what to make her because i am not very artistic or creative. I can give some info on what she likes etc. but if anyone has some creative and relativley simple ideas shoot em my way! I ask in here because i Know the main forum would not give me any sort of positive response. I've browsed previous threads and found nothing that jumped out at me, and though the photo album is a good idea, we dont really have all too many pictures to make one.
    Thanks in advance! :wiggle:

Last Valentine's Day my gf and I decided to make our gifts because she's a poor college student. I made her two things, one was a homemade snow globe with one of her favorite characters in it (the Little Prince) and the other was a box full of 100 note cards, each with one thing I loved about her written on it.

Edit: She made me a puppet show and performed it. ^_^

what kind of things does she like? Is there anything she needs for her place? What kind of skills do you have (like carpentry and such). What kinds of things have you heard her talk about wanting?

I don't remember where I found it. Probably just googled it. Basically all I did was took a plastic toy, super glued it to the inside of a jar lid, filled the jar with water, added a little bit of food coloring and glitter, then I closed it reeaaally tight.

I guess so. My GF and I make gifts for each other all the time... they mean more than something just bought from a store. It can be fun, and the gift is usually a lot more personal. Always a good idea to do this. :bigthumb:

As for the thread starter... it's your GF. you should know what she is into... make something related to something she enjoys.

Illegal to deface money dude :mamoru:

seriously tho that's pretty cool. i wonder how much control you have over what size the ring turns out, tho.

I have super skinny fingers. I'd have to use the quarter for me. Or maybe a nickel. lol.

I think making gifts on occasion is very sweet. Most people appreciate the time and effort that goes into it. Anyone can pay for a nice dinner or buy a diamond. Creating something unique and personal is much more intimate.

First off, you're the one that brought up the macaroni necklace. Second, my gf would rather me write her a story than buy her a dvd or take her out to dinner anyday. What exactly is it you think a woman needs/wants so badly anyway? And why can't you get your woman what she needs and still make her something?

Dude, bro, put yourself in his shoes. Would you REALLY want to make THREE macaroni necklaces?

9/10 if you make something special for them it will trump anything you buy them, unless its something they mentioned and you got it for them down the line as a surprise.

Nobody wants a macaroni necklace or any other crap someone would make. She may be all "oh this great thanks" but inside she is making a :ugh: face.

He is not talking about solely making her things for the rest of their time dating. I am sure if he got her expensive gifts every time that would get old to. Buying shit she needs + random spontaneous handmade stuff > * unless you are dating a heartless bitch

depending on her taste in jewelrly, you can make some really kickass jewelry. Go to your local bead store if you have one, or at least try a craft store. Find really unique pieces, see examples, etc.

Seriously, you can make some kick ass shit. But then again I make a lot of my own jewelrly/buy mostly handmade stuff from markets and stuff.. so it depends on her taste :o

And not many people want to be with a selfish self absorbed cunt like you

I make my gf jewellery sometimes. Used to make a bit of money on the side doing it so have all the equipment. It's just a nice way of saying I love you rather than buying some impersonal crap from a store.
