Ok, so say you make a site thats related to another one. For example, someone making a friend adding service for myspace. Is it bad practice to kind of design the site around the myspace design so it matches?

Not really a big deal. Look how much AOL copied Yahoo's design.

If their site is popular and yours is not, I doubt they'll ever know :hsughno:

Just don't do what I've done, and save their layout then make minor edits to it.

Copying it from scratch would be fine I'm sure. But duping it, not so much.

thats cool. i started mine from scratch. their design had images incorporated, but i decided to just use background colors in my divs. looks 'ok' without the images.

just wanted to make sure before i do something stupid.

yeah it shouldn't be a big problem, done it in the past. But don't use their logos or anythign or they can sue you.
