    Most just care if you're abusing the traffic. Wouldn't be good for a public web site, but a game server they probably wouldn't care if it was just for your friends or whatever

    I wouldn't worry about it ....as long as your site doesn't use like a couple gigs a month they won't even notice. Worse they will do is warn you...

    Why wouldn't you just get cheap hosting? With a domain you wouldn't be spending any more than $100/year

    your ISP probably already blocks the port, so i wouldn't even both trying. You need more bandwidth anyways. For just a couple bucks a month, you can have some webspace with your own domain.

    I got a year of hosting and a domain for 10 bucks from dreamhost awhile ago. They will probably be having some sort of similar deal soon.
