I really want a tablet so I mocked up this rendering just to reinforce how damn sweet it would be. Now, Apple, make the damn thing so I can sketch out drawings where ever I want. :hs:

Only thing tho, without the keyboard that would be useless.

Get one of those old Sony desktops that had the 15" tablet LCD screen. You could take the screen and draw right on it. I'm sure it would work on the Mac w/a video adapter.

if it's touch screen, why not just have an on screen keyboard?

It would be less functional than a standard keyboard and more awkward to type on.

Bo, what if you show another view where there can be a stand and keyboard that pop-out from the back? So the screen sits like a picture frame would and the keyboard is basicly a flat, laptop style one that unlocks & swivels around from the back.

    That, would be clever.

It wouldn't be realistic because it wouldn't fit in the size I illustrated. Apple has put in several patents very recently for the use of an on screen keyboard as well as a lot of cool innovations involving only a touch screen. I wanted to play on that. Now one idea I had was to have a giant dock with usb ports and such coming through the back for key board/mouse/monitor connection/etc or just use on tablet bluetooth.

I could totally see a laptop style keyboard, a really flat one, coming off the back.

Have you ever used a true tablet before? It's a tablet, not a notebook. They are far from useless. No need to type with a keyboard with Apples already existing handwriting recognition; but if you need to, that's when the on board keyboard kicks in. The whole point of having a tablet is to use it to write by hand.

We have a Toshiba tablet PC at work. Heavy as hell and the onscreen keyboard is meh at best.

Nope, different stuff. That is wizzy freaking cool though.

I've tried to use tablets at my work (we do audio in a lot of them) but just can't gett all that much use out of it. We do too much chat/email.

No built in wifi or bluetooth, combo drive, etc.

    Not worth it.
