    Hi Everyone,

    I have a 17" Macbook pro 2.4ghz and 4gb of ram.

    2 questions.

#1. Is there any maintenance I can do on the laptop to speed it up? For example on my old PC I can defrag, clean disk, etc.

#2. Is there a way to test how good my ram is?

The reason why I ask these 2 questions is because I been getting the beach ball alot lately. I'm not sure if it was before or after I added the new ram. Everytime I open a new tab I get the beach ball for 5-10 seconds where I can't click anything. Anyone know what may be wrong?

    Thanks

As far as maintenance, get Onyx, it cleans up your HD, fixes permission etc. You can also turn off services you don't use to speed things up a bit.
