I can't for the life of me get it to search message bodies. Searches always turn up blank. Subject searches work just fine...I've tried re-indexing spotlight (multiple ways), and also re-created the message cache in Mail...still no dice. Anyone have a clue?

Did you try searching in Spotlight? (Assuming you are using Tiger).

Spotlight will search the message bodies.

Check spotlight prefrences. Im not on my mac right now, but its a possiblity that there is an option for turning off search message bodies of email. It might be in mail prefrences too.

Since I said I tried re-indexing Spotlight, I'm pretty sure I've used Spotlight to search. :ugh:

There is an option for searching mail messages, and it's selected...
