I tried to e-mail someone a very large file this morning, and since then my Mail keeps crashing every time I attempt to open it.

I called Mac and they told me that it would cost me 50 bucks to get an answer from their help desk.

    Can anyone here help me?

what is the size of the very large file?

does your e-mail service and that of the recipient allow attachments as large as what you sent?

try killing your internet connection, firing up mail, then looking in the out box to see if the message is still trying to send. if it's completed sending, it should be in the "sent" box.

if it is still showing up in the out box, try deleting it, then restart mail and see if that takes care of it.

even if it has already completed sending and is showing up in the sent box and not the out box, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to delete the copy in the sent box if the attachment is huge.

I know what you mean- Apple really sucks when it comes to tech support.

As far as the mail thing- sorry man, can't help ya'.

Try searching the apple support articles, or post in a more macintosh user-populated forum that's all about macs so there are more users (an usually programmers) there to try and help you out.

how big is the file? what kind of file? are you trying to use pop/imap? is your hard drive low on space? is the message encoded for mac/pc (i.e. something about appledouble, etc)? os version? all updates applied through software update? etc etc
