i appreciate any input guys. thanks in advance. background: i was running a magpul CTR stock on my addax GPU until i could find a UBR in FDE to replace it. i finally found one in stock and got it in a few days ago. i have not gotten to shoot the carbine with the stock installed, but just by playing with it i like the the stock a LOT. i find it worlds better than the CTR for 2 reasons. 1: it doesn't grab my facial hair each time i get a cheek weld (which not to sound like a baby, was quite painful), and 2: it might be my imaginiation, but it seems as though the cheek weld is just a little tiny bit higher with the UBR and feels more comfortable. i also love the collapsable adjustments, it is very easy adjust in and out "on the fly" so to speak. great stock! VERY solid. i thought the CTR didn't have much wiggle, but the UBR is even tighter. problem: this may very well just be me, i'm not sure. with the CTR i was running a left side DD sling adapter between the lower and the stock for my gear sector single point sling. when i tried to instal the UBR it wouldn't fit all the way into the lower with the DD sling adapter in place. the buffer tube bottoms out and would not screw in far enough to retain the buffer retaining spring and pin when the adapter was in there. the UBR is obviously designed to fit perfectly into place and the adapter just gets in the way because everything fit perfectly when the adapter was removed. is there another way/part/piece/adapter/whatever that will allow me to run my single point sling at the same position as before? i know i can attach it to the stock itself, but then the carbine rides too low on my body when slung and i'm not fond of that. the mounting point on the UBR is about 4 inches further back than the old mounting method i was using when completely collapsed. way further than that when retracted all the way, which is the way i prefer it. am i missing something obvious or do i just have to deal with it? here's a pic just for the heck of it.
