I'm putting together a new AR, and i'm looking at stocks, i was just going to go w/ a standard collapsable stock, but i've read good things about the CTR. Anyone here have the CTR? If so do you think its worth the extra $70?

I just ordered a CTR with milspec tube.

I've heard nothing but good reviews from Magpul products and everyone I've spoken to says the CTR has no slack or wobble. Ive heard good stuff about CAR too, but I have heard that on some recievers there was a bit of play in it.

I figure the end price new is only 25-30 bux difference, so I went with what I had a higher change of keeping.

No rattle, feels more solid on your shoulder.

I like my CTR, don't mind having spent the money on it.

Never had the CTR I had a 93b and the quality was top notch, I'd definently buy one of the magpul setups over a CAR/M4 style stock.

thats what i'm thinking the CAR stock kit is like $80, while the entire CTR kit is $150, so i'm having a bit of trouble justifying it

Yeah look online for it cheaper. For $150 not counting shipping, you're paying too much. Check out AR forums OR shoot a PM to Jimmy Pop Cornholio for possibly a better price. :wavey:

Love my CTR. It's lighter than the CAA I had, more streamlined, and is a better fit for my shoulder.

It's a good replacement if your CAR stock doesn't lock up tight.

Well, I'm asking because Armalite is having their sale and the CAR stock is $55 shipped, whereas the cheapest i can find the CTR is roughly $135 shipped

I just got and installed this stock today.

$65 for stock and all assembly. Holds 4 batteries, three sling attachment points. rubber buttstock, and a pic rail.

Damn nice deal if you ask me. :wiggle:

If you are piecing together a rifle and money is tight... LMT CAR stocks taken off of brand new rifles are pretty easy to find, and go for $35-45. They have an extra little dimple inside the tube that loads up against the receiver extension, making the stock nice and tight.

Make sure either comes with the buffer tube and spring if you're starting from the ground up.

Typically I can find the CAR with tube kit for $85-90 and the CTR with everything for $130-140 shipped

My bad, I was thinking of the stock only and not the tube assembly.
