I hear these mags are the way to go as far as AR mags are concerned.... I usually use the 30rd steel mags with no issues, although I found the mag stick out further than the pistol grip and makes shooting from a rest tough. Are the PMAGs the way to go and are they short enough to fix that issue? Where is the best place to get them (midway usa is backordred).

20's are the way to go if you're shooting from a rest or shooting prone.

PMAGS get rave review but any of the top tier aluminum 20rds will work well also. What you've used in the past were probably aluminum as there are only a handful of steel mags made... HK mags are one but they are terribly expensive and CProducts is another but those haven't been out long.

I ordered my PMAGS from www.anchorarmament.com, but that was at least partly because I was supporting an area business but their prices are competitive. Going rate seems to be about $13.50/per and if you look in the "Equipment Exchange" section of Ar15.com you'll see tons of vendors carry them so pick your poison.

Thanks guys, some quick replies there! Sprite, you are right, I ment to say Aluminum magazines, most of them are the AR stoner mags. I'll order a couple of the black 20rnd PMAGs and see how they work. Thanks!

I ordered few, but they're backordered. I'm getting them because the 30rndrs get in the way when shooting out of the truck.
