I made a lightbox finally. Using 2 craftsman 250w floodlights. It still doesnt seem bright enough because I need to up the exposure in PP. It also might be because the box I made is HUGE. Here is one of the pics I just took. More to come.

That pic is way too small. Can you make it bigger?

Seems really under lit because the exposure is 1/45. I tried at f11 and exposure came out to 1/15 :hs: It still didnt give me that much better DOF

if you're using a tripod, who cares? use a higher fstop. it might help, also, if you arrange the products a bit differently, so you can get more of them in focus.

Yeah I get what you are saying about the arrangement. Im actually not using a tripod because everything is on the floor  Will try the dining table in a few.

Aperture is your friend, especially when doing lightbox shots. I usually go for f16 and that covers the entire depth of my box. Your paper looks really good though, but it's going to be balls hard to get good definition on a white object whilst still overexposing the paper.

    My very first lightbox photo:

Yeah I guess it was just the white that I was having issues with. Going to find more crap to shoot.

A shitton better. You can mask and dodge the bottom in PS pretty easily.

Since you're shooting on white it's really easy to go into photoshop and mask your object out (create a selection of just the object) and once you have it selected you can invert your selection (so you have just your background selected) and then you can take the dodge tool and "paint" the darkness out of the paper until it's pure white.

i took this with just one softbox and a strobe. i should have used two to get rid of the shadow more, but it was for an ebay listing.

How are you judging exposure? It's not bright enough because you are determining exposure incorrectly. If you meter off the white paper you'll need to add a stop or two to get the correct exposure. You could also use an incident meter or meter off a gray card and then you shouldn't have to do that.
