Is the TE edition really worth the extra $70?

I'm looking to buy one now that they are readily available but don't want to waste the extra $70 if it's not going to make that big of a difference.

its worth it because if you get the standard ones they come with shitty buttons and will ware out pretty quick.. and to change out to sanwa buttons will cost about 24 bucks and a sanwa stick gonna run about another 20 bucks.. also the TE is a bigger and sits in my lap better then the smaller standard fight stick..

What's the life of the shitty buttons though? I'm not looking to play the shit out of anything, just casual play.

if its casual play i would say they would last about a year or so.. they will start to feel loose and thats when its time to change them out.. as for the stick i dunno how long that would last some guts have problems with a washer wearing down and it starts making a clicking noise.. but those were the first mass production of the stick.. so it might have been fixed... but get a TE they are worth it.. the MvC stick is sweet

Oh :werd: I saw the MvC stick the other day. It's what's got me thinking about getting a stick again. Is it better aesthetically only or what?

I dunno. I have a Hori FS3 & MadCatz TE stick, and for some games (MvC2) I prefer the Hori, which has a stiffer feel to the stick/buttons. I could play with both :dunno:

I say that if you want a stick to casually play with then stay with the SE version.

The buttons will wear down and you'll probably be replacing both stick and buttons down the road.

All a matter of when but the TE's stick and buttons are made to be abused.

    get the T.E

    absolutely worth it.

you'll regret the S.E for many reasons: build quality, feel, size, reliability, etc etc.
im gonna pick up a second T.E as soon as I can get my hands on the new super edition ones, then just mod the original T.E

If I had those I'd be playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2 every day for a very long time.

I've seen the TE being sold as low as $90, it's dropped in price a lot

At Fry's Electronics and if there isn't one available then try online retailers with cash back.

$90 for a TE stick is tits since you get so much out of that price.

Als, do a craigslist search and see what you find.

I'd do a CL search if I was looking for something used. I feel it's stupid to buy a used TE stick.

My friend bought his for $95 off Craigslist when they were recently new and going for $149.99.

You'd be surprised how many people bought the stick and never really used it. Instead of just having the stick lay around they sell it.

His was in pristine conditions but ymmv.
