Gonna buy one soon, both of the lens that I am considering are the same price... One is made by Phoenix and the other by Vivitar... what are some of your opinions on the makes?

    Phoenix macro lens

    Vivitar Macro lens

Comments, suggestions.. all would be appreciated...

Both have almost identical specs but the Phoenix will focus on objects a bit closer to the lens (1.5") than the Vivitar. The Vivitar requires another piece of glass to get than close. Neither lens is very fast at f/3.5 but they'll do the job. Personally, if macro is what you're really after I'd spend the money on a nice bellows system as opposed to a macro lens. However, if you don't already own a 100mm or similar lens then this would be a good lens for portrait work. Finally, I've never heard of Phoenix and I own a 400mm Vivitar lens so my inclination would be to go with the Vivitar. Doesn't mean that Phoenix isn't a good lens, it's just that I'm not familiar with the brand.
