    What's a good macro lens? 60mm f/2.8?

o and is a macro lens just like any other prime but has the ability to focus at really close range?

The VR doesn't really help during the Marco, so I second the non-vr. :wiggle:

I've heard good things about the Tamron 90 too

Werd...the VR is good if you plan on using it for portrait shooting though

i used the 60mm macro. awesome lens. if you want bug pictures then you need something with a longer focal length. but basically anything else it is perfect for.

macro lenses also not only can focus closer, but have the capabilities to reproduce something 1:1...meaning that the image on your sensor is the same size as the object you took a picture of.
