I've been putting off this flick for about a week. Finally before I went to sleep I decided to watch it.

I liked it. Plot was not bad (ending was better than i expected), direction editing and cinematography were pretty good (considering the budget). It was pretty suspensful at times, altho' i didn't like soundtrack much.

I think the best part of the movie is definately Christian Bale. I thought he's kinda like Keanu Reeves. Monotonous voice, no acting flexibility, and he's the next Batman. However he was absolutely brilliant. I was very impressed with his performance and what he did to his body (was actually painful to watch at times).

Yeh, rent it, if you're into slow moving thrillers.

P.S. it was filmed in Barcelona.

yeah i liked it too. after watching american psycho, i can't get enough of chrisitan bale. the movie had a nice little twist at the end but i wouldn't even put him anywhere near keanu reeves. he is one of the shittiest actors ever (but i love point break).

good, i'm not the only one who's seen it.

i never took Bale, seriously. that's why i put him down there.

anyway, Bale was very good in Machinist.

Keany Reeves, can be not bad if role is written for him only, or with him in mind.

Christian Bale is an awsome actor, and I am glad he actually got a role that a large audience will see. Hopefully they do not fuck up Batman again with this movie though.

Christian Bale > most other actors.

In regards to how he looked, he only ate a can of tuna and an apple per day for a couple months for that role.

Just saw this an hour ago, had never heard about it before until some OT'er posted a screencap of Bale looking in the mirror in another subforum.

Excellent movie, I loved it. I can see how people can draw comparisons to Fight Club and Memento, but its still distinct enough from those two to be good in its own right. Bale was fucking amazing. Definetly worth seeing if you can your hands on it.

    I liked, not loved it.

Bale was good (SO much better than Keanu ever has been).

Didn't like the fact that it was supposed to be Los Angeles yet was filmed in Barcelona. It's always easy to tell no matter what lengths the producers go to when they are trying to make one country look like another.

And although this has nothing to do with the movie, I HATE that Bale speaks WITHOUT his British accent in interviews. WTF? I understand hiding it for a role but why the F does he hide it in interviews? He didn't back when he did American Psycho.
