uh, maybe this seems a little too obvious, but why not simply make the thermometer wires longer, and encased in fiber glass insulation, or reroute them around the screw that holds the fan in place. That would eliminate that problem. :hsugh:

When I dropped my PB and damaged my firewire and USB ports, they had my PB back to me in 4 days. Their support has always been top notch. Won't get that with Dell.

when my dell monitor stopped working after 6 months, they had a REPLACEMENT here the NEXT MORNING AT 9am, 10 hrs after i called.

try getting apple to give you a replacement let alone free overnight shipping.

Mac has enough money to fix these issues, obvious from the amount they cost.

I think I'm one of a very few that could have bought a new macbook on day one and decided not to just yet. When it is pain V/S pleasure when using a MAC, no speed difference replaces a smooth cadillac ride of a 17" PB.

Now when they get them to run like a PB, I'm game :big grin:

Funny, because Dell couldn't get us CPUs for our servers for over a week. They shouldn't have burned out in the first place. :hsugh: Try calling Dell lately? You either get an idiot, or somebody who barely speaks english, and if you are lucky they will take care of your problem promtly. I have never had any problem of the sort in the 15+ years I've owned Apple products.

Does this "RSS" only applies if you solely use macbooks on battery power only? Most often than not, I'm plugged in to a power outlet so I've never had a shutdown ever?

Even the little time I use it with battery only, I still haven't had a shutdown.
