How can i watch shows from my macbook to my tv through s - video? Any place to buy a cheap converter? I have a old school tv so the dvi converter will not work for me.

well you could use the adapter they give you with your macbook and then ebay a "vga to rca" cable for about $5. If the only adapter they gave you was for minidvi to dvi, then you will ahve to buy a "dvi to vga" converter as well. Then you need a "1/8 to rca" cable for the sound... all of these can be found on ebay by searching the quoted phrase above.

Apple is about the only place to get them... I looked all over for something cheaper, but there isn't anything...

macbooks don't come with any adapter, i think mbp's do.

s-video is not going to be the best picture quality. i know it looked like hell on my hdtv, it should look a little better on a standard def tv. don't expect to be able to read small text, it will probably be blurry

I watch an episode of House just last night through the mini-DVI to s-video adapter with my Powerbook and it looked better than normal tv on a 92' projector.
