My SO's Macbook tonight just got a weird symptom. She put it in standby and left it sitting on the table with nothing on top of it. Display was fine. When it came out of standby, it woke up with some weird colored streaks on the right side of the screen. It also had one white area on the far right that was solid white. You could see the screen through the streaks, but not the white part. We rebooted and it didn't disappear. Reset PRAM and the same. I'd think dead LCD, but what would have caused it that suddenly? Macbook is well outta warranty. Does the Mac Shack have any advice?

My first thought too. Or someone shoved hard on the top lid, but I know for a fact neither happened. The LCD's gone though, right?
