Hey guys, just bought a macbook pro the other week. I have a 12" powerbook that is mabye 2 years old...so I'm not entirely new to macs. Anyway, I want to bump up the ram in the macbook pro. How do I know what kind it needs, and also the guy at the applestore said something about it having to be in matching pairs. When I got my powerbook it came with 256 and I added a 512 to it. But the macbook has 2x256...so I have to put in 2x512 or 2x1024, or can I go 1x256 and 1x512?

    Thanks for the help.

well its dual channel ram and with that, you would see a greater speed increase if you had matching rams

i just got 2gb of mushkin 200pin ram for my macbook if that helps in finding what kind you need

Yes, but can you really put 4gb of ram in a mbp anyways?
