not have my network be interrupted when i close the lid?
i think he means without having it stay on
I cannot believe Apple doesnt implement a function that let the laptop stay on when closing the lid.
The heat is released from the keyboard, so if you do use insomnia, watch out for the screen getting too hot... Thats probably why Apple did'n set it up that way...
am i better off just letting the monitor turn off and leave the screen open?
I just dim mine all the way down at night.
It stays on when it's connected to a monitor. I did that all the time when I had my macbook
I am getting really sick of hearing this.
Can you honestly imagine Apple's engineers saying "OK, we won't let the macbooks stay on with the lid closed because they'll overheat and destroy themselves. But if you've got a keyboard and monitor plugged in, it'll be just fine."
Ive been using insomnia for ~6 months, and nothing hapened.
