google.com wasn't working last night, now it does finally.
i set my dns to opendns.org's dns servers
i can access my gmail account from my windows machine, but i can't on my macbook. i tried firefox and safari, both just sit there trying to connect to mail.google.com
    i can't ping mail.google.com in terminal
i can ping mail.google.com on my desktop
    (both direct to googlemail.l.google.com)

sometimes a page will need to access google for something, analytics usually, and the page will never fully load because it can't access google
i think i need to clear dns or something on my macbook

    this really sucks now
i can ping http://mail.google.com, but not mail.google.com if that matters
i changed my dns on my router back to using whatever my isp wants.
i looked under network settings, nothing has changed :dunno:
checked out all my settings on my router, nothing changed
still just sits there waiting to connect to gmail.....

cleared my cookies, cache and all that. i never even use safari and it won't connect with it either. i'll try rebooting my router and plugging directly in to see if that makes any difference

woah, wtf?!?! i can access my gmail account if i am wired to my router

so why is my wifi denying my access to my gmail account? this is nuts

update: i totally cleared out my router, factory reset it. i still cannot access gmail over wifi. so that tells me that something this up with my airport

    it's a fucking bug with 10.4.10

wireless internet blows dick unless you have an airport extreme hub. something with power management on battery power. plug in your computer to the wall and it should work.

well, it's odd because i can connect to gmail no problem on wireless at school.
so, it's looking like my router is culprit. i'll clear it out again, maybe search for a new firmware...or end up just buying another one
