mac vs fat formatting

    i have a mac laptop and a pc desktop that i rarely use and wont be using when i go away for college. im thinking about reformatting my ipod, but i was wondering what the pros/cons of each type of formatting are.

    why reformat your ipod there are progs like xplay that you can use that will allow you to sync to both. If you have macdrive installed that will work too. Then it wont format on mounting. So back you ipod up with like podworks or something first just incase. Otherwise you'll loose your shit!
    I do this with my mac ipod and i have no problems.

    do you gain anything by using the mac formatting and using it with a mac? is there anything special you can do with it that you can:t do with windows

    I'll take a wild guess and say it might be faster in terms of file transfer. I can't think of any other features it would give you.

    the difference is if you rip your songs on a mac and then transfer them to a pc disc it usually renames it to a truncated name since it doesnt support as many characters as osX. So that tends to be a pain in the ass for some people.
    Other than that theres no difference.
