So I was wondering, how much do Mac Specialist get paid hourly? I know it depends on the location. I had my interview today, and they asked what I would be looking for, for a salary, and I told them anything about $8/hr and she said "Well I'm sure we can blow that out of the water." I'm more interested in getting the job than getting a specific wage right now, so it's not too important, but it would be nice to know. Anyone have any inside information? :naughty: I know employees can't publicize that they work for Apple on forums, but maybe their "friends" know? ;)

yeah, it's pretty bad. Right now I'm stuck at $8 an hour, so anything is better than that. Web development gets me between $25 and $35 an hour, but that's outsourced work

Good luck, my man. I'm sure the job market is pretty competitive in NY. I hope you get it and it pays well

I don't work at a Mac place. Right now, I work at a computer recycling warehouse (and if some people have seen other posts by me, they know that it definitely has it's perks). I just had an interview at the Apple Store and was curious about the wage.

Can't exactly tell if you're being sarcastic, or serious

What was minimum wage at the time of your employment? Also, do you think I have a good chance if they are having me fill out a background check?

it gets really fucked up when you're in the service industry in some states that factor in tips into your hourly wage, so you get paid like $2/hr base pay.

not here though, min wage + tips/commission.

never made minimum wage in my life and never will. never been a concern of mine to know if there are state minimum wages vs federal minimum wages. so no, its not exactly a big issue in my life to research it or to care about it

:hsugh: not ever making minimum wage is a big roller?

    newspaper? no time.
watch the news? all the time. would you care to show me the last story on the local news that talked about federal vs state minimum wage? you can start with your local news. the last thing i can think of was the talk about raising the federal minimum wage over the next couple years.

i'll wait for you to find the tons of stories about federal vs. state wages though
