I thought it would be cool to see what other people have on their docks and what their regular every day desktops was. Everybody's so quick to post their desktop in the main forum without taking a look at the other ones, that sometimes you can't find any cool setups or ideas.

What I'd like to do is start a thread with the desktops of all the mac users on OT so maybe we can share some cool programs we've found or interesting setups. So post you desktop and explain what's on it. Just show it as it is when you turn on your computer with no extra applications running and let everyone know what you have on the dock, desktop, and menu bar.

Here's my iBook G3 800. The dock really never changes and I have the wallpaper set to change daily.

Ok, on the menu bar we've got Quicksilver Launcher, iChat, AirPort Meter, Battery (set to show time) and the clock.

On the dock from left to right we have

    Finder
    Stickies
    NetNewsWire
    Safari
    Firefox
    Camino
    iTunes
    MPlayer OS X
    Terminal
    BBedit
    skEdit
    Transmit
    TextEdit
    Photoshop CS
    Calculator
Applications Folder (opens in icon view)
Home Folder (opens in icon view)
    /Library/WebServer (opens in column view)
    Trash

Try to resize your photos so we don't get huge pictures totally messing up the flow. I set mine to 800x600 which should be fine. Widescreen users, please don't set it to take up 3 lengths of the browser window and make everyone else feel like shit.

I would post the desktop on my 15" Powerbook G4, but I like simplicity. My dock only has the apps that were already chosen for OSX Panther, and the only icon on my desktop is the Mac HD. My wallpaper is just like the album cover of Make Yourself.

Menubar: MenuMeters (Thanks to TurboDerek), Bluetooth, Displays, Classic, iChat, Volume, iSync and Clock

Dock (Ugh): Finder, iDisk Utilitiy, Address Book, Calculator, Terminal, TestEdit, Mail, Fire, AIM, Safari, Mozilla, Camino, MarketAnalyst X, Sherlock, Fetch, ThinkFree Office, PhotLine, QuickTime Player, DragThing, StuffIt Expander, DropStuff, Cocktail, AutoCat, Peak LE, Maya PLE, Audion, Audacity, iTunes, GarageBand, iPhoto, PhotoStudio, iMovie, Final Cut Express, Quicken, iCal, iBlog, iSync, Super Nisqually, Goban, Quake III Team Arena Demo, Backup, Xbench, iPulse, System Preferences, ShuttlePRO, WMP, AutoCatalog, Apple.com Web Shortcut, Volume Control, AudioCD Player, In Box (Mail), Trash

The blue quarter circle in the top right corner of the desktop is the "Expose Blob" enabled through the Cocktail utility. You can just option-click it to see all your open windows with Expose instead of having to do a multi-key combo.

The Desktop Wallpaper is a photo my wife took looking out the back of my Miata while on a drive with the local Miata club in the hill country West of Austin.

Note to self: You need to clean some crap off your dock. You don't use half that stuff and several are expired demo versions of programs you never used.

Yeah. I know. I tried to clean it up, but ended up putting as many new things on it as I took away. Net result was the same only I have some more games in place of expired demos. :)
