    Somewhat.

My girlfriends 5g 80gig iPod took a dump and according to iTunes it had NEGATIVE 170 gigs available. We tried to restore it using iTunes for Windows and it said it was restoring for over 12 hours......Tried it again, same thing. Decided to take it to my house and hook it up to my MBP, got it restored in about 30 seconds. Plugged it into my PC, reformatted it back to a Windows and it's good as new.

haha, i've done the same for friends, a few times now. They get annoyed that they have to restore the music on it, I remind them that it's better than the alternative. good job.

    also,

hahahaha, macs to the rescue. I have to do this all the time at work. restore a memory card, recover a PDA, pull up files stored on a CD that our PC's won't read, etc. I should claim my laptop on next year's tax return!

I've done this with a few hard drives that windows refuses to even acknowledge that there's a partition on...just hook it up to my trusty USB enclsure plug it into my mac at work and proceed to pull all the files off it.
