If I installed 10.4.3 on my iMac, will I encounter any problems selling the 10.4.3 package? Is it true that you can only install once?

    Selling the 10.4.3 package? what?
    Install what only once?

If you're going to make a thread at least make it understandable.

Sorry. It's the retail 10.4.3 package. I installed it on my imac. Now, I'm trying to sell the 10.4.3 retail package with the install DVD and I've been told that if it's been installed already, it can't be installed on another computer.

You can definitely install it as many times as you want.

It's certainly physically possible but technically, legally you'd be violating Apple's copyright and license agreement.

Who the fuck would buy 10.4.3 unless you are selling it for $20?

That would only work if the person buying it has the EXACT same hardware as you do. The install cds are hardware specific.

Good question. I put it on craigslist just to see what would happen and by the end of that day I had sold it for $55.

unless it's retail then anything goes...

and it's per system, macbook disc with any macbooks, mbp's with mbp's, imacs with imacs and so forth... you can install any version of osx on any hardware regardless of the disk, but little issues might start popping up here and there though, won't be as stable as the proper disk.

That's not true. Stick your macbook disc into an imac and the installer will say "You cannot install on this hardware." and will quit.

:werd: You can't stick a 2.16 ghz MBP install cd into a 2.2 ghz or vice versa. Like I said, it's hardware specific.
