Any ideas? I downloaded the MACINTOSH software from the website, and the program for the scanner etc all set up fine. Then whenever I print, the HP printer status screen comes up on the screen (computer screen, not the printer screen) and says "Connecting to Printer" for about 3 minutes, then says "Jobs Stopped"

Nothjing, it just doesn't connect to the printer. Nothing shows up on the printer's LCD screen, and on the mac mini in the printer software it just says connecting to printer for 5 minutes then says no connection can be made. I've tried differnt usb ports and different USB cables, and I know the printer works because the PC that the mini replaced was using it just fine :hs:.

I had an issue connecting to a network printer when I got my Mac Pro and the problem turned out to be in the naming of the printer. OSX apparently cannot have any spaces or other special characters i the name of the printer. I had a space in the printer name and it was keeping it from printing, though it seemed to recognize the printer.

You may want to check that. Beyond that I cant help you.

You may want to try the Apple forums on their site. Someone on there was very helpful in getting me to track down the problem. Also if you still have access to Apple support, they were also very helpful in getting it solved.

    Good Luck.

How should I rename my printer, mine has spaces.

And I lost the original CDs, however the drivers were installed when I download the software from HP.
