Anyone know of any hardware like phones, pda's, mp3 players that plug right into the Mac and are able to sync or otherwise be used (be it 1st party or 3rd party software)?

Like, I plug my NexTel i730 into my G5 w/the data cable and it see's a USB device but I have nothing to interface with it. It'd be nice to organize my contacts on the phone and sync it w/my Mac.

Google survey says that i730 will not work with iSync. Nextels in general have poor support for hooking up to computers. Almost any other kind of phone would work.

My RAZR synced with my iMacintel via bluetooth with absolutely no setup or 3rd party software.

iSync did all the work, and everything in Address Book and iCal are now in my RAZR.

You need to go to the bluetooth connection option in your phone, and select "find me". That will tell your phone to make itself visible for approx 60 seconds, allowing your computer to pick it up. Simply having the bluetooth functionality of the phone turned on won't allow the computer to see it.

The BT is handy for things like syncing or dl'ing pictures off the phone without even having to go dig my phone out of my bag.
