    I'm in the need of a laptop. I always wanted to get a Mac :noes: I have been a PC guy my whole life. I was looking at the Mac Book and Mac Book pro. I just want to use it for basic computing no hardcore video editing or gaming. Is the Mac book Pro really worth the extra monies?

    wrong forum.

    Macbook=integrated graphics, smaller, glossy screen
    Macbook Pro=It has its own GPU, comes with 2gigs of ram, different sizes, LED screen, glossy or matte.

    go to an apple store and see which you prefer. the glossy apparently makes colors more vibrant, which I don't need because when I design I need to know exactly how it'll look (esp for print).

    Is that all it does? Just makes it look more vibrant? Since I'll be getting a Macbook I guess I have no option but to get it. I hope I like it!

    it's good for some applications, bad for others. If you use the laptop next to a window with a lot of sunlight, glare can be bad. Then again, if you're using it at night, it's gorgeous

    Crucial is good stuff, I'm using Kingston Value Ram in mine, and it's pretty cheap nowadays.
