I have to be part of a club (I don't see the point in this).

I have to take a safety course, the next one is the 2nd sunday of September.

Then I have to start the application process to get a FID license.

After I get the FID license, I have to set up an interview with my police department and wait up to 3 months :eek4: for an answer.

I'm talking to all of my buddies and they just walk into a store with a drivers license and they can purchase a gun, some have to pay some sort of express fee to have their background checked (15.00) or wait three days. MA is so anal about this stuff.

Just spent 190,000.00 on a condo three months ago. It would kind of be a pain to up root everything I have here. I think about it every so often, for more reasons than just the pistol.

Y2K - You sound like my buddy in NH and AL. I think there were too many nimrods with guns in MA years back and all of these laws are a result of them. Either that or the topic of firearms come up the big wigs think the world is coming to an end.

Until then I can take a short drive to the NH border and get my fill. It's 14.00 an hour for the lane, each pistol has a one time 12.00 rental fee and the ammo is 12.00 a box for the 9mm and 17.00 for the .45

They have alot of stuff, MP5SD, AK's, .50 rifles, .50 pistol, .454 revolver, Uzi's, Tec9's, it's fun, they have about 40 to chose from but the machine guns are 35.00 to rent. I rented 6 guns my first time. I liked the Thompson machine gun for the way it felt and all of the history behind it; the MP5 just because it was easy to handle under fire. The Ruger .454 was just silly.

    fun fun fun

california isnt as bad as MA. we just go to the store, pick out a gun, do our HSC (handgun safety certificate) which takes about 10 minutes to study for and 10 minutes to complete. Pay for the gun, register the gun, wait 10 days, come back pick it up.

It's the latter, you have a lot of socialistic Democrats running MA. CT here is only marginally better, can't wait to bail on the northeast. (NH and ME are still  though.)

Try to go buy an AR-15 or a M1A. I just don't like how they limit so many guns that are perfectly fine. Every other state has these guns legal but you don't see people running down the street with them pumping out magazines and bayonetting people.
