Ok, so I got a Chinese M44 with my c&r for $49 shipped so of course it is a little rough. I cleaned it all up and took it out over the weekend but it wouldnt fire. The primer gets dents from the firing pin but it doesnt fire. I tried 3 different rounds too and it was the same. Could it be a weak spring for the firing pin?

I took it completely apart and cleaned and oiled everything. Where can I get a new spring?

You can also set firing pin depth. The mosin multi-tools have the proper depth gauge on them. I haven't done it in a long time but I believe its as simple as the screw on the rear of the bolt.

Check depth with the multitool and give it a try. If that doesn't work, then I'd worry about a new spring.

Good stuff. I never knew the pin could be adjusted. Thanks. :bigthumb:
