I'm considering an M&P fullsize 9mm I checked out today, finances permitting. For the M&P shooters here, what holsters are you using for general range work and carry? I'm more interested in a fitted OWB holster but any good recommendations are welcome.

Also, what are your opinions of the fullsize M&P for concealed carry over the long term?

Galco Concealable. I conceal my glock under a light columbia parka.

I used to carry a fullsize gripped double stack pistol imo subcompact is the way to go for carry because I believe you can get grip extenders.

:dunno: I carry my M&P 9c daily in a Don Hume IWB. More often than not, just under a t-shirt

I carry the fullsize no problem even in a T-shirt and shorts and I'm tall and avg build.

There's tons of holsters for them but the Comp-Tac ones seem to be one of if not the most popular. I hear good things about the Phantom as well ( http://www.ravenconcealment.com/products/holsters.html )

I do have a Kahr K9 which may become an option if I can get it to 100% reliablility. One of my reasons for picking up the M&P is to have a fully reliable pistol available while my other pistols are being worked on. I am also looking for a larger capacity gun to have in the safe. So far the M&P9 and the Glock 19 are the two I am considering.

I'll look into the holsters that have been suggested. Thanks for the replies!

The Minotaur MTAC holsters do look nice. For an OWB, the Minotaur Gladiator looks like it would suit me well. I like the mix of kydex and leather on the designs.

I didn't think I'd like it. I've never been a fan of kydex, always a straight up leather guy.
I'm very happy with it and I have no problem recommending it to anyone. Its very nice.

Just fine. Barely looks like its even been holstered... and its in and out of that holster quite a bit.
You're always going to have a little bit of wear on the very edges of the slide... but that's normal.
You can hardly even tell on this gun. I'm very impressed. Of course, taking care of your guns helps too.

    Yours?

Mines been great, I've just been waiting on throwing down on a $$ holster till I know it's good and more importantly comfortable. I was worried with the kydex I didn't want mine getting all scratched up cause some of the pics I see guys put up it looks like they dragged their gun behind their truck. My buddy got an OWB blackhawk one for his compact that he loves, but I like IWB and extreme concealability.

Not a big fan of OWB here either, but that's just a personal preference.
I was hesitant about the kydex too, and still prefer good leather to anything else.
I just don't have the money for the MS VMII I really want . But when I do, I'll be getting one.
Er... I mean I'll be getting on the LIST for one.

    :mamoru:

Figure out what you're gonna do for carry ammo yet? Just keeping the DPX?
I tried looking all around, at least everywhere I know of, and didn't find any Ranger-T's for sale in 45.

    Good luck.

What about all those places I posted for you?? I see Ranger at Gunshows all the time, got 2 boxes for my friends 357 Sig. I know the dealer out here has probably 30 boxes of .40 not sure about .45 and I've been bitching at him to get in 9mm.

on a side note I looked at JHP at Gander mountain holy fuck twice the price.. even WWB FMJ are $21 or like $28 (i forget) for 100 rather than $14.77 @ Walmart.
